My wonderful granddaughter, McCallen, is four-and-a-half years old. Whenever I
go to McCallen's house, she tries to get my car keys and then scrambles to get
her shoes. She runs to the door and waits right there for me, knowing I can't
get to the car without going out the door, and can't leave without the keys.
It doesn't matter what day I visit, or what time, or what is going on-she still
is determined that she's going with me when I leave that house. She has no idea
where I might take her in the car or what we might do, but that does not
diminish her excitement or anticipation about going and being with me.
In my life journey I am often more interested in knowing-or trying to find
out-where God is taking me than in being excited about ,just being with Him.
I go to great lengths to insure McCallen's safety and well being and to provide
good things and fun times for her while she is with me. Can I trust my heavenly
Father do all of that-and more-for me? Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the
plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm
you, plans to give you hope and a future."
That is good news.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You know where You are taking me, even when I don't
have a clue. Thank You that Your plans for me are always good, and that for-
those who love You, Lord, all things work together for their good. In Jesus'
name, Amen.
