Seasons of Life

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the
heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die." Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 2a KJV
All of us have different seasons in our lives. I went through a season of
crippling depression and suicidal thoughts which I had every day for over twenty
years. I had a season where all I did was sleep. I would go to bed at six in the
evening and sleep until two the next afternoon. I stayed up for four hours and
was back in bed at six again.
This went on for several months until one day Jesus reached down His nail
scarred hand and lifted me out of the darkness and loneliness of my life. He
said "I Love you, Joanne. You can trust Me because I will never hurt you or
leave you". On that wonderful day, I asked Him to forgive my sins and come into
my heart. That glorious afternoon, August 14, 1980, the Saviour of the world
picked me up and placed me on His lap of Love and in His arms of protection. O
how I love Jesus! There is no one like Jesus! Nobody loves us like He Loves us!
There is a time to die physically, but we must also have a time where we make a
choice to die to our sins and the world. We must be born again through the
sacrificial death of Jesus on the cruel cross. Unless we go through the season
of being born again through the atoning blood of our Saviour, we will not only
die physically, we will die spiritually. We will spend eternity without Jesus.
I don't know what season of life you are in today, but I know that without
Jesus, life is meaningless and empty. There is no real peace, joy or happiness
without Him. If you haven't had a season of asking Jesus to be your Saviour,
please do it now!
