Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is living and active.
My husband and I have traveled a bit, and I have noticed a few differences among
hotels, this usually dependant upon the price of the room. In a more expensive
room or suite, the toiletries may be unique , the mini bar better stocked, or
the sheets turned down at night. One of my favorite treats in a "fancy" room is
finding a chocolate on my pillow when we return from dinner or an evening out. I
love chocolate, and unwrap and pop that tasty morsel into my mouth with great
enthusiasm. I savor the flavor and look forward to the next time I can indulge
in this delight.
Last night we were home - in our own bedroom, when I received the most beautiful
sweet on my pillow. No, it was not chocolate, but something much more precious
and long lasting. I noticed it right away as I entered the bedroom after my
usual evening bath. My loving husband placed our daily devotional, the Upper
Room, on my pillow. This had never happened before, usually it is just passed
back and forth or shared out loud. This little book was just lying there- atop
my pillow- and it reminded me of chocolates which had been left for me at fancy
hotels. I knew this pillow topper was the sweetest thing I could ever ingest.
Each page contains a verse from God's Holy Word, a short story, a prayer, and a
scripture passage for possible further reading.
Now I realize I don't have to travel to deluxe hotels to receive a special
"pillow sweet". God used Jimmie last night to give me the best one of all- the
sweet and fulfilling Word of God.
