“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with
the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little
child shall lead them.” Isaiah 11: 6
I am sitting here at my computer trying to type this devotional but it is
difficult for me to see as I have so many tears of joy, happiness, gratitude and
awe in my eyes and in my heart. About ten minutes ago I started to take my
garbage to the dumpster. I didn’t take more than two steps and a precious little
boy about six years old who was riding his bicycle stopped and said “Would you
let me take your garbage and throw it away”?
I have only seen this little boy a couple of times riding in the trailer park.
After he came back and was riding by my trailer, I got a dollar out of my purse
and took it outside to give to him. I asked him “What is your name”? He said “My
dad said not to talk to strangers”. I was so impressed with his dad when he said
that. I said “I have something for you. Would you please go ask your dad to come
see me? I will wait right here for your dad in front of my trailer. I want to
give you a dollar for helping me”.
He came back and told me something that will forever remain in my heart. He
said, “My dad told me that it wasn’t necessary for him to come see you. He said
that you are Miss Joanne and I can talk to you and take the dollar because you
love Jesus”. This is the reason I am living; the reason that I get out of bed
every morning, to make Jesus happy and for people to know that I love Jesus. I
want no other award than to see the smile on my Saviour’s face when I see Him
face to face and know that I have done just a little to make Him happy. What are
people saying about you? Are they saying that you love Jesus?
