Christmas vs. xmas

I remember reading a story about a new baby being born into this certain family. This mother and father had wanted a child for many years, and finally God gave them this child. All their friends and family gathered together to celebrate and rejoice in this birth. They had a feast! They talked for hours and finally someone wanted to see this child that they had gathered together to honour. When the parents went to their bedroom to get the child, they found the coats of the people piled high on the bed where he lay sleeping and when they took off the coats, they found their baby had died from suffocation. The coats had killed this child.

This is a very sad and true story and we are guilty of it today. We all gather together to celebrate this birth, but we forget about the King that was born unto us. We spend hours and millions of dollars to celebrate this birth, but we forget about the King that was born.

We buy presents, cut or buy Christmas trees, we write letters, send cards and we write Merry Xmas to our loved ones and friends. WAIT! We have all taken a pledge and agreed that we live in a nation, that is, one nation under God! WAIT! Did I say Merry Xmas? Have we taken Christ out of CHRISTmas? Have we Xed CHRIST out of CHRISTmas?
