Sweet

Yahweh is I am. He is the One to speak. The thought came so clear to me that I was sure that it came from the Lord: I am the Sweet Although I knew that is a word from God, I was not sure what He meant by this. So I looked it up in the concordance and in the bible. Praying over it all, I received the following revelation.

Word "More to be desired are they (the ordinances of the Lord) than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb." (Psalm 19:10) This clearly refers to the Word that is sweeter than honey.

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun. (Eccl. 11:7) This is another illustration for sweet. Jesus says: I am the Light. That is sweet, He is sweet.

Wood "And He cried to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree which he cast into the water, and the waters were made sweet. There [the Lord] made for them a statute and an ordinance" (exodus 15:25). This was at Mara (bitter). The word for wood/tree and the word for Word have the same stem. The word tree points to the cross of course and the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. By putting the cross, Jesus' sacrifice, Jesus Himself in the middle of the bitterness, it becomes sweet.

Sacrifice This is explained by the following verse too: "Out of the strong came forth sweetness" (Judges 13:25). This refers to the story of Samson. He killed the lion and in the body of the lion were a swarm of bees and honey. In order for the bees to produce honey in the body of the lion, he had to die. It is the sacrifice of Jesus, the Lion of Judah that brought forth the sweet.

What is the purpose of this? "And He said to me: Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it. Then I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey ion my mouth." (Ez. 3:17) It is the scroll, the Word that is sweet and must be eaten, in order to taste it. If you only look or touch, you know it is there but you do not eat, you will not taste the Sweet.

"So I went up to the angel and asked him to give me the little book. And he said to me, Take it and eat it. It will embitter your stomach, though in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey." (Revelation 10:9) In Revelation we find the same call to eat the Word, but this time it has the effect that it embitters the stomach. It burns in our inner self. That means that it will cost us too. The gospel we ate, burns in our inner self to be passed on, brought to those who need to eat from this Sweet, this living Word.

Life I believe that God wanted to tell me that He is Life. I can only receive life in abundance if I eat of Him. I will be changed by receiving the Word as the Truth. It will make me a sacrifice pleasing to God, not only for what I do for Him but more still for who I am and will be in Him.

I pray that you will eat the Sweet on Christmas day and any other day. That will be a true feast! Merry Christmas.
