If I do not feel my brother’s pain, or cry for him
at all;
How can I hope to face God, when Jesus comes to call?
If I cover my ears and turn my head, so that I do not hear;
How can I meet God face-to-face, without any fear?
If I am too busy to lend a hand to my brother who is in need;
How do I hope to face God, when I didn’t plant or water that seed.
If I walk through this world with blinders, paying no attention to the suffering
all around;
How can I face God someday, and stand on hallowed ground?
I need to feel my brother’s pain and hear him cry out in the night;
Then I can face God with a pure heart, basking in His’ light.
We were all put here to help each other, take time to lend a hand;
That’s how I can face God someday, by helping my fellow man.
Amen
