In Need of a Tutor
I must share with you the miracle we witnessed tonight. In spite of the temptation to worry and fret, we decided to simply lay the problem at Jesus' feet. We shared this with members of our small group, as well as with a few choice friends and family, asking for prayers, but otherwise, we did nothing but pray. Every time I started to worry, I would ask God if I needed to do anything, and the answer was always clear: Wait upon the Lord. It became harder and harder to fight off the worry with each passing day, and yesterday, just 4 days before school is to start, I was really struggling. Yet I continued to be impressed to pray that the solution would "knock on our door". This morning my devotional message was the story of the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. Jesus said to the man, "rise, take up your bed, and walk". I knew at that point that something wonderful was in store. Well, this evening, after a day of prayer and time with God, the boys' new tutor literally "knocked on our door". One of our small group members volunteered to tutor them. He just happens to be a retired public school principal, who lives a couple of streets over from my husband's school (my husband is a public school teacher). So, not only did God provide a tutor, He provided one with more teaching qualifications than the last one, and one that was a whole lot more convenient to get to! PRAISE THE LORD! |
