A Firetruck for Caleb
Staring in a store window,
a red firetruck caught child’s eye.
“Son, I have a job for you.”
the storekeeper said, “I’ll tell you what sweep my floors every open day.
“You can have all the presents, now take your money away.” At the end of the day Caleb got to pick out all the presents, a light, and the firetruck from the store. With the money left Caleb purchased a ham and a lot of food, his heart, smiling once more. Dorothy E. Scott poetry99@txol.net Dorothy Scott - My name is Poet Dorothy E.
