I met Debbie a couple of years
ago. Soon thereafter she began to have a limp. Her boss sent her to get an MRI,
They believed she had a stroke. Months later her symptoms were getting worse. At
this time I was unemployed. Suddenly I got this job that provides medical
equipment.
It started with a cane, then moved to a walker...she
was getting worse. I took her to the U of L hospital in Louisville, KY. We got
bad news...she had ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). She needed lots of medical
equipment. Just so happened that I could get all the equipment on loan. She had
no insurance and no money. It was a God send. Eventually she came to the point
where she needed someone there 24 hours a day. Just so happened that my son came
to see me after 20 years. He found this young lady and she moved in. She was so
awesome...always look out for Deb.
We took care of, Deb to the very end. She passed 2
weeks ago tomorrow.
I believe that God brought us all together for this
horrible disease. She passed at home right next to me.
Truly, I am heartbroken at the loss of her, but I am
thankful for bringing her to my life and at the same time providing love for Deb
as she needed it.
