Nuclear Disaster! Marriage Bliss, 11

A guillotine

2 Tim2:22-23 "Run from infantile indulgence. Run after mature righteousness - faith, love, peace - joining those who are in honest and riots prayer before God. Refuse to get involved in insane discussions; they always end up in fights."

One of the big temptations when you are married is to argue with one another. It's kind of like two children without a brain, and generally it's about silly things!

Why does this occur? It's because you are used to making all of your decisions by yourself, and now you have to consider someone else's wishes. It's no wonder conflicts arise, as now you need to be in agreement with one another.

Do everything to avoid the arguments, as they will drive a wedge between you and your spouse. The more these conflicts arise, the more distant you will become. It's really not worth your time to argue!

My first conflict with my wife was over who would answer the phone. We both disliked answering this silly device, and this led us to an argument. Silly, don't you think? I don't even remember how we resolved this! Oh no! My Alzheimer's is acting up again!

The best way to approach such conflicts is to be thoroughly honest: "Honey, for some reason I have some kind of phobia about answering the phone. I have no idea why this happens. What should I do?"

It's only then that conflicts can be avoided and solutions can be brought forth with pure love. That's how relationships blossom.

"Honey, I have a problem. Every time I drive I have an urge to hit pedestrians!"

You better know about this before your wedding day!
