"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his
saints." Ps 116:15
To all of us come the moment when our time on planet
Earth is up. In these situations, supernatural healing will not happen. Remember
that our days are already numbered before we are even born: "Your eyes saw me
when I was inside the womb. All the days ordained for me were recorded in your
scroll before one of them came into existence." (Ps 139:16). After all, though
we don't always recognize this face, Heaven is our home and we are always
longing for Heaven: "My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my
heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." (Ps 84:2)
Even during these times, however, the grace of our
Heavenly Father bestows us with peace, and sometimes even with miracles.
Cyrus' mom was in the hospital in Nairobi. She was not
doing well. We prayed for her and our Heavenly Father came to her rescue. Cyrus
send us the following testimony: "I want to thank you immensely for standing
with my Family in prayers. My mother has drastically improved. Can you imagine
she had lost her speech, her walking capability and could hardly even hold her
neck. We had almost given up and I remember one time I called a nurse to our
house and she told me to prepare for the worst and to let go. I never gave up. I
declared that my mother will be well again. She is now walking by Her own and is
feeding very well. Her speech is back, she led us in praise and worship the
other day."
It was a reprieve, showing that our Heavenly Father
loved Cyrus and his mom. However, her time to go home was within days. Although
Cyrus Mother finally rested and was promoted to eternal Glory in August this
year, Cyrus testimony about the healing power of God is such a powerful witness
to what our Heavenly Father can do. Cyrus adds, "My Mom did not die, God healed
Her from all the pain She was going through. She is in Heaven looking down on us
and smiling at the pride of having children who took care of her, brought the
pastors to pray for Her. Her last words on this earth was the following, Amen,
Amen, Amen to a powerful prayer led by my sister Margaret. When she eventually
breathed her last, she looked so much at rest and the doctor who was attending
to Her who also is a believer told us the family: "Your mom is in Heaven. We
doctors we know when a patient dies whether he/she are at peace with His maker
or not. Your mom looks so much at peace. Let her rest in peace. And indeed we
still have a testimony that our God reigns and we are blessed to have know our
God."
Even when death is at the door, peace will fill us up.
Our Father is with us.
Not long ago, a member of our church ended a battle
with stage 4 cancer throughout her body. She should have been in pain, but she
wasn't. She kept on smiling and giving hugs left and right. The day she went
home, she was completely lucid. All of a sudden, she looked up to the heavens
and her smile broadened. She raised up her arms towards the heavens, and then
she passed on, happy to be with her Savior.
When our time comes, we can look forward to our home
coming. That is where we belong, with the lover of our soul: "And God will wipe
away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor
crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
Revelation 21:4 (NKJV)
What a glorious destiny! We have nothing to worry
about! We are going home.
