No More Bareness! The Witness, Part 12

No More Bareness! The Witness, Part 12

Fruit

"Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high. Then the wilderness will be turned into a fertile field, and the fertile field will be considered a forest." Isaiah 32:15 (GW)

How many of us consider ourselves to be barren fields? We work, but we can't seem to find purpose. Some are totally bored, not knowing how to use their time. Others are depressed, while still others feel they are all alone. Why bother?

The promised Holy Spirit can change all of that. From being barren, we can become fertile. Welcoming our Heavenly Father's Holy Spirit to dwell within us will open our eyes wide. Never again will we ever find ourselves alone with no purpose. The Holy Spirit will guide us to fertility that will be a blessing to those around us.

I used to be barren as well, even though I was attending church. The problem was, my church was also barren. There was no life, only rules and criticism. Outside of church, I was teaching, and I enjoyed that; but I felt I was missing something.

When I discovered the presence of the Holy Spirit, I became quite excited. I welcomed Him with open arms and my life changed dramatically. As I got to know Him, I realized His guidance was priceless. Then one day, God's Holy Spirit gave me a suggestion: "Start an online Prayer Ministry." Puzzled, I did some research into online prayer ministries. Everyone I contacted told me the same thing: online prayer ministries were a waste of time. When I asked my church for guidance, they, too, said the same thing.

It would have been easy to just drop this notion of a Prayer Ministry, but the Holy Spirit was not giving up. I had a choice to make: I could either follow the advice of humans; or I could trust in the Holy Spirit. I opted for the second choice and I have never regretted that decision.

I had no idea how to operate a Prayer Ministry, but I had a guide that led me, as He had promised. I started my ministry with 20 subscribers. I was astonished how these twenty subscribers even found me online. Nothing changed for the next 6 months. My Father wanted me to get used of this ministry before he asked me to start...what? Writing inspirational stories???!

Needless to say, I was shocked. I hated writing in High School, and even at that time of my life, I had no interest in writing anything. It's then that He told me: "I will guide you. You are not alone in this!"

Well, why not try? It changed my life. I started to bloom. My Father was guiding me whenever I wrote, and I felt His presence during these times. Wow! My Heavenly Father is fabulous!

Then a few months later, the Holy Spirit prompted me to start inviting volunteers. I had no idea how to do this. Before I knew it, I started to have volunteers join the prayer ministry. I hadn't even advertised for them!

The ministry grew and grew. Many among our volunteers have found a purpose as well, by praying for others, answering Bible questions and encouraging those who need help. Many of our volunteers are excited as they see themselves as missionaries reaching others from their living rooms. And this is a very accurate description!

Following the suggestions of the Holy Spirit will change your life for the better. You will have a life filled with "wow"s…with purpose! No more bareness! Hurray!

Enjoy!
