The Spare Tire Dilemma. The Word Coming Alive Series, Part 2

The Spare Tire Dilemma. The Word Coming Alive Series, Part 2

When we found our trailer problem

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." John 1:1-3 (NIV)

Why is Jesus called the Word?

"And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." Genesis 1:3 (NIV) All through creation, The Word created all things. It took just "one word" from "The Word" and it happened. No doubt about it, His promises are for sure. After all, words are powerful, but "His" Word is way beyond our imagination. This is why this Bible verse is so important: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7 (NIV) We ask, Jesus responds with His Word, guiding us in the right direction.

Confused? Ask "The Word"!

Lost? Ask "The Word"!

Depressed? Ask "The Word"!

Sick? Ask "The Word"!

"The Word" will always come through. Experience Him and find out how much He loves you. He will fill you completely: "The thief (Evil one) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10 (NIV)

Only through "The Word" can we experience real life. Only through "The Word" will peace invade our souls. The presence of our Heavenly Father will be within us and we will become joyful because "The Word" lives in us! "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7 (NIV)

Ask and the Word will answer! So simple!

Before we left for on our trip to Wisconsin, we prayed that our Heavenly Father would protect us from adversities. He did!

As we were driving through our own province, we passed a trailer on the side of the road. The back axle was completely broken and the tire was completely buried underneath the broken-down mess. We felt sorry for these poor people and prayed that CAA would soon come to help them.

What we didn't anticipate is that our trailer also had a problem. Once we arrived at our campground in Michigan, we noticed that the steel holder for our spare tire had nearly broken off completely from the main steel bumper and was leaning quite dangerously near the road.

As we had no tools with us, we asked the campground for their help. They gave us a pair of tiny pliers, but these didn't make any kind of a difference. While praying, my wife was convinced that she should ask a certain young man walking nearby if he had the tools to help us. He certainly did! This guy told us he almost left all his tools home, but somehow he became convinced that he should bring them...

The man was able to remove our spare tire and its support, and as we had nothing in the trunk (boot) of our car, we put the whole contraption safely in its confines. It could have been so much worse. Our situation could have paralleled that of those poor people we had seen on the side of the road. If the holder had snapped completely off the bumper, it would have fallen to the road and we would have dragged it until the entire bumper broke off. It could have been a terrible mess!

Interestingly enough, if nothing had happened and our spare tire holder was showing no signs of wear, we never would have known that our Daddy had protected us big time. Thank you, Jesus, for caring for us!

His Word always come through. Just ask and you will see with your own eyes!
