It’s amazing how, in this world below,
So much is in the way;
Jealousy, envy, and hatred born
From something amiss, one day.
If we carefully examine events,
Oft times we find the cause;
Was really not intentional,
But affected the pride in us.
It’s too bad when a dear dying father
Must wait to witness the gift
Of forgiveness, between his beloved sons,
When there’s not one more day to live.
It’s sad when a grandmother cannot
Call grandchildren to her side
Because of rifts in the family
And things a cold court decides.
Oft times, one would come to the Savior.
But, something inside’s in the way.
Now, what do you think should be
Big enough to hold a man back, to delay?
For, eternity’s only a breath away;
A heart beat, a wreck on the road.
Jesus says, "Now’s the appointed time."
Now, He will lift heavy loads!
Oh, to be free from burdens that weigh
So heavily on our hearts!
If only we’d see the freedom we miss,
The joy He aches to impart!
So, put on your spiritual glasses.
Examine these "things" very well.
If they get in the way of walking with the Lord,
Give them up! Be saved from hell.
