I drove a school bus seven routes a day, hauling 65-70 plus kids a load and was
a full time mom raising five children from the ages of 12 to4 years of age. I
was also an active member of our church serving as a youth leader, co-pastor and
SS teacher.
On Monday morning following my hospital tests and my release on Friday, as I
returned home after my morning three runs on the school bus the phone rang and I
got the shock of my life.
My church taught healing through faith in God and had held me up in prayer
faithfully as well as my best friend Jo Ann fasting and praying with me for my
healing. So I was fully prepared for the diagnosis of 'there was a mistake there
is no cancer found.'
Not so! I heard "Mrs. Ebling you must come back to the hospital and be admitted
tomorrow evening and the doctor will perform surgery on you Wed. morning. You
must have a complete hysterectomy as you have cancer all through your female
organs. I made them repeat this to me again.
I was in total shock! I finally pulled myself together after visualizing my two
little girls 10 and 4 years old as well as my three boys 12, 11, and 8 with no
mother to be there for them. I had no one in my family I could ask to help my
poor husband to raise them nor any one on his side either.
As a matter of fact I did not know what I would do with them when I went in for
the surgery. My husband could not afford to be off work and my best friend had
to work and had a family also.
I walked down the road to my friend Jo Ann's house and when she opened the door
I burst out crying..."I have cancer Jo!" She was so shocked as she had felt God
told her he had healed me. She had in faith fasted seven (7) whole days and
nights for me, only drinking water and juices and eating no food at all.
Continuing her job and care of her family and remaining steadfastly in prayer
for the diagnosis to be "No Cancer."
She hugged me and said "I don't understand Sister Leona, I know God told me you
are healed." Well, we are from a Spirit filled Holy Ghost faith and were both
filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues. My friend often got an
"message" or interpreted the unknown tongue being spoken at certain times.
At this time during our crying she spoke a few words in the unknown tongue and
as we stood quietly with the presence of the Lord felt strongly by the both of
us, she simply looked at me and said "God says, You can have what you believe me
for."
I was still very shaken and worried but went on to through the surgery. When I
came to and was in my room I was told by my doctor that he had removed my
appendix which was grown to my large bowel and both grown to my stomach wall. He
said if my appendix had ever had to be removed in a hurry it would have burst
before they could have accomplished it. He had only removed my uterus he said
and was waiting for more biopsy tests to be done.
The operation had been performed on Wednesday and on Saturday morning my doctor
walked into my room and was grinning from ear to ear. He said, "Leona I am not
able to say what happened...but I know you were full of cancer. I saw it with my
own eyes. But when I got in there to do the surgery there was nothing I could
see. I sent the biopsy in again and there was not a trace of cancer to be
found."
I knew what happened! My husband knew what happened and so did my dear little
friend and our church. God had performed a miracle healing for me. Why? In HIS
mercy and through faith in his ability to do so? Only HE knows why.
I can only say I am so thankful and I am now 65 soon to be 66 years old. I have
raised my children, worked all the time and helped raise 12 plus grandchildren,
foster kids and lots of others who came and stayed for days, weeks, or months
during this time.
I have had check-ups and I am still cancer-free. God never does anything
half-way. Praise HIS Holy name. By HIS stripes we are healed. (KJV of the Holy
Bible) .And I am reminded of this portion of scripture as I write this today...A
woman came to Jesus for a healing for her daughter one time and was told by the
Lord (after the disciples had told Jesus to make her go away as she worried them
with her crying,) "It is not good to take of the children's bread to feed to the
dogs..." But the woman had insisted and said "Even the dogs get the crumbs that
fall from the table Lord" Jesus had answered how great faith she had and the
daughter received her healing
...I say yet today "I'll take a crumb from HIS table for my needs anyday!"
Praise the Lord HIS miracles are still for "whosoever will" today!
