It's about...

Recently someone wrote to me about the condition of the world and talked about war and hatred.

His words reflected a deep concern about where life was headed.

He ended by asking "What is life about?"

It was one of those deep philosophical questions of the ages. One I find myself asking every time I watch the news.

So, I sat here at my computer keyboard and posed that question to God.

Without hesitation, I wrote the following:

It's more than just being alive, it's about living.

One must see all that can be done and do it.

It's more than seeing the lost, it's about helping them find their way.

One must bring hope to the hopeless.

It's more than taking, it's about giving.

If you feel you have nothing to give, then you don't understand what giving really means. What the world needs can't be kept in a bank account, stock piled in a warehouse, traded in the market, or sold to the highest bidder.

It's more than talking about what's wrong, it's about doing something to make it right.

There are those who talk about changing the world and those who are doing it. Which one are you?

It's more than you, it's about them.

If all of your concerns begin and end with "I," you will never be happy.

It's not about asking God for help. It's all about asking God "How can I help?"

In my words..."What's life about?" To make a better world, my friend, there's so much you can do, for if you are to change the world just make a better "You."

Don't you think... it's about time?
