No Rain on our Heads. Majestic Mountain View, Part 39

No Rain on our Heads. Majestic Mountain View, Part 39

Rain

"If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn't think of such a thing. You're at least decent to your own children. So don't you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?" Matthew 7:9-11 (MSG)

We ask, and we receive…And what we receive is way better than a peanut butter sandwich! All we need to do is ask our Heavenly Father.

Naturally, we need to be intimate with our Heavenly father, but even then, God often shows His colors and comes through to people who have never experienced Him.

It's so simple. Ask our Heavenly Dad, trust Him, and He will come through: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7 (NIV)

Here is a simple illustration. It was supposed to rain during our trip from Bailey's Harbor, WI to Roscommon, MI. The day before, our Heavenly Father had given us a delightful day with no rain, even though heavy rains had been forecasted. We had asked for sunshine and He came through (See Expecting Sunshine Against All Odds. The Witness, Part 9). We now had a seven and a half hour drive in front of us, and it didn't faze us in the least if it rained or not. We were safely in our car. All we hoped was that when we stopped for the night, the rain would stop for a while.

Something strange happened during our trip. Every time we stopped for gas or for an attraction, and most importantly, when we arrived at our campground, the rain stopped completely; but once we were back inside our car, it started raining again. Our Heavenly Father was confirming that He was with us, enveloping is in His tender arms. Isn't He amazing?

We truly can trust our Father. Try Him, and you will find out the truth in the words, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
